Originating with Gaspard Monge, these techniques allow imaginary objects to be modeled and viewed from any angle while preserving size, shape and proportions on a flat surface.

Descriptive Geometry in Education

The Orthographic Projection Method

The method relies on two projection planes—the horizontal and the frontal plane.

To transform a 3D object into 2D, the Monge method ‘folds’ both planes, merging them into a single flat layout.
