Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-09-05
1. Who we are and what these Terms cover
These Terms govern your use of Geometry Mapping Tool at geometrymappingtool.com. By creating an account or using the service, you accept them; if you do not accept them, please do not use the service.
The service is operated by João Romano Barbosa, a self-employed sole trader (autónomo) established in Spain, tax number Z2120363K, at Calle de Orense 6-B6, 28020 Madrid, Spain, contactable at info@geometrymappingtool.com. These details are published to meet Article 10 of Law 34/2002 on information society services (LSSI-CE).
2. The service
GMT is an online tool for studying and teaching Descriptive Geometry: a 3D space, Monge projection tools, and worksheets you can organise and keep. Some features are free and others require a paid plan, as set out on our pricing page.
3. Your account
You need an account to use most of the tool. The information you give us must be accurate and kept up to date, and one email address may hold only one account.
Your credentials are personal and must not be shared or transferred. You are responsible for what happens under your account; tell us promptly at info@geometrymappingtool.com if you believe someone else has gained access to it.
4. Accounts created by a school or organization
A school or organization may create an account for you and grant you access for a fixed period. While that grant is active your use may also be subject to the institution’s own rules, and you cannot buy a subscription directly.
Grants are time-limited. When one expires, or the institution ends it, the access it provided reverts — your account and the work you created remain yours.
5. Acceptable use
When using GMT, you agree not to:
- use the service unlawfully, or in a way that infringes anyone else’s rights;
- disrupt or overload the service, scrape it, or try to gain unauthorised access to it or to other users’ accounts;
- upload or share content you have no right to use;
- copy, decompile or attempt to derive the source of the software, except where the law expressly permits it.
6. The content you create
The worksheets and geometry you create remain yours. You grant us only the permission we need to store, process and display that content in order to run the service for you — nothing more, and it ends when you delete the content or your account.
You are responsible for what you create and for anything you choose to share.
7. Our intellectual property
The GMT software, its interface, design and brand belong to us or to our licensors and are protected by copyright and industrial property law. These Terms give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service, and transfer none of our rights to you.
8. Plans, prices and payment
Prices are shown on our pricing page and include VAT — the figure you see is the total you pay. We are registered for VAT in Spain, and because our sales of digital services to consumers in other EU member states stay below the EU-wide €10,000 threshold, Spanish VAT applies to them. If we pass that threshold, VAT becomes due at the rate of your own country of residence, and we will tell you before that changes what you pay.
Paid plans are billed through Stripe and renew automatically for the same period until you cancel.
You can cancel at any time from the billing portal. Cancelling stops the next renewal and your plan continues until the end of the period you have already paid for.
New subscriptions start with a 14-day free trial. You are not charged during the trial and can cancel before it ends without paying anything. If you do not cancel, the plan converts automatically to a paid subscription at the price shown when you subscribed.
We do not refund part-used periods: the free trial exists so you can evaluate GMT before paying anything. This does not affect the statutory rights in section 9.
If we change prices, the change applies from your next renewal and we will tell you in advance.
9. Right of withdrawal (consumers)
If you are a consumer in the EU, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract without giving a reason, under Articles 102 and following of the Spanish Consumer Protection Act (Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007).
We do not ask you to waive that right. Article 103(m) of Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007 would allow it to lapse once a digital service begins with your express consent and acknowledgement, but we do not collect that consent, so the full 14 days apply.
If you are still within the free trial, nothing has been charged, so cancelling before it ends leaves you with nothing to reclaim.
To withdraw, cancel from the billing portal or write to info@geometrymappingtool.com within 14 days of subscribing.
10. Ending your use
You can stop using GMT whenever you like and delete your account permanently from Dashboard → Profile → Your data. Before you do, you can export everything we hold about you from the same page.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms, or where the law requires it. Where it is reasonable to do so we will warn you first and give you a chance to put things right.
11. Availability and changes to the service
We work to keep GMT available, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may need to suspend it for maintenance, and we may add, change or withdraw features as the product develops. Where a change materially reduces what a paid plan offers, we will tell you in advance.
12. Liability
We are responsible for supplying GMT in conformity with these Terms and with what our site describes. If it is not in conformity, you have the remedies the law gives you: under Articles 115 and following of Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007, having the service brought into conformity, a proportionate reduction of the price, or ending the contract. Those remedies are free of charge and cannot be signed away.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded: for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or wilful misconduct, or for the rights the law gives consumers. Any clause here that would have that effect does not apply to you as a consumer.
Beyond that, and as far as the law allows: GMT is a study and teaching aid. We do not warrant that what it produces is fit for professional engineering, surveying or certification work, and we do not guarantee any particular academic result. Checking work you intend to rely on is your responsibility.
We are not liable for loss caused by using the service contrary to these Terms, by third-party services we do not control, or by events outside our reasonable control. Because you can export your worksheets at any time from Dashboard → Profile → Your data, please keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.
If you are not acting as a consumer, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms is limited to the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, and we are not liable for lost profits, lost revenue, or indirect or consequential loss.
13. Complaints and dispute resolution
If something goes wrong, please write to info@geometrymappingtool.com first — most problems are quickest to fix that way.
As a consumer you may also ask for an official complaint form (hoja de reclamaciones), which traders in the Community of Madrid must make available, and lodge it with the regional consumer authority.
If we cannot resolve the matter between us, you may propose consumer arbitration through the Sistema Arbitral de Consumo (Royal Decree 231/2008). We are not adhered to that system, so arbitration would need our agreement in the individual case. You remain free to complain to the consumer authorities or to go to court.
14. Notices
We contact you by email at the address on your account — for service messages such as verification, password resets and changes to these Terms. Keep that address current. Marketing messages, if we ever send any, require your consent and can be stopped at any time.
15. Transfer
You may not transfer your account or your rights under these Terms to anyone else. We may transfer ours to another company — for example if the business is reorganised or sold — provided your rights under these Terms are not reduced.
16. Governing law and courts
These Terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of any mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country.
For anyone who is not a consumer, the courts of Madrid have exclusive jurisdiction.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. The current version is always on this page, with the date it last changed shown above. If a change materially affects your rights, we will tell you in advance and give you a reasonable time to end your plan if you do not accept it.
